Providing intermittent support (3 field mission combined with distant follow-up and mentoring to the team) on institutional and organisational capacity strengthening of the actors of the waste management (and related economic value chains) in Conakry and on professional skills development for their human resources. The work conducted comprised:

• Institutional and organisational assessments
• Development of capacity building strategies and related plans for the different actors involved (Ministry of Sanitation; Agency for Sanitation and Wholesomeness (ANASP); Municipalities; SMEs and their federations; ...)
• The institutional arrangements related to waste management centres
• Partnership agreements
• Updating the logical framework and designing the M&E system for the SANITA Programme and for solid waste management professionalisation Strategy;
• Legal and regulatory arrangements and strategic advice with respect to effective transfer to municipalities (decentralisation / devolution) of responsibilities and resources with respect to waste management and sanitation.
